Sunday Morning Coffee-Just Me

Does anyone else suffer from creative procrastination? I dont think this a term that is actually real (except in my mind) but I have coined the phrase to mean when you are so creative and have so many ideas generating in your cluttered brain all at once that you actually hesitate to create. Or you try and create everything at once and in turn actually create not one damn thing? This is the concept of creative procrastination. If this describes you, welcome. And if you are reading this thinking, what the hell is she talking about...just know it only gets weirder from this point on. You've been warned.

Let me officially introduce myself. Some know me as Quiniesha, my friends call me 'Q' (which I actually prefer) and I am a virtual assistant/online business manager. Well, actually, I am a bit more complex than that title, but we will get there later. I created the Business Butler Virtual Assistants (BBVA) because I became burnt out and stressed the fuck out in my career.

Let me explain. For the last ten years I have worked as a Senior level Property Manager. I began this side of my career on a whim after a school I worked for literally closed the door on a random Wednesday afternoon...(if you know, you know)

I legit started at the bottom answering phones and worked my way up to managing a multiple sites (commercial and residential) and a staff. If you ask my staff, I was the shit. If you ask my advisors or people in charge, they wanted me on their team. I was (still am) efficient, organized and on my shit. The Olivia Pope of the property mangement world if you will.

But as much as I loved what I was doing, it was stressing me the fuck out. Working 6 months out of the year damn near seven days a week, 10-12 hour days. Putting out fires (figurativley speaking) left and right, dealing with residents (I should have been a therapist) and the demands of owners and investors (who have RIDICULOUS expectations btw), it was taking a toll. The last two years were the toughest. The company I had been with changed hands (personally I thought the new compnay wasnt going to cut it, but not my money) so I only stayed because I loved my co-workers. One in particular, a fellow Sagitarius, she and I could rule the world side by side! Y'all ever just have the one co-worker that you just click with? From day one?

Anyway, I stayed because this new company was shit and I wanted to help my Sagi, get her office up and running and to take care of some of the heavy administrative pieces.

I left that company for a more appropriate position for my experience, and that company was right up my alley as far as the type of work in property management I wanted to do. Well three months into that position, the owner was approached to sell his company to a larger and more reputable real esate brokerage. I in no way fault him for this move as it made sense on paper...but let me tell you something, these big, well known companies look good on paper ONLY!

This new company was a shit show from day 1! I lasted 4.5 months before I said to hell with it. That last company almost put me in an early grave with their foolishness. My co-workers were great, my regional manager was fantastic...but everyone else? Lets just say I told them they can hold hands and skip to hell. ( and I have the email to prove it!)

But wait! There's more!

I hesitated about sharing my back story but then I thought, this is me and what the hell else should I have posted for my first blog post anyway, lol. And if you work with me then I want you to get a glimpse into my personality and character. I shoot from the hip and give it to you straight, no chaser. This is what makes me exceptionally well at my job.

I created the BB because now I am on my time. Working insane amount of hours isn't necessary if your business is structed properly and you have the right team in place. This is where I come in. Before I fell into real estate, I was in career services. I taught career development classes, handled student internships, career development and worked with organizations in the commuity. So I can not only help you start your business, grow your business, I can also find the staff you need to follow behind me to run your business.

I have been fortuante enough to work with some amazing people in the industry and have made some lifelong connections. I specialize in working with real estate professionals: agents, brokers, developers and now investors. I have built my staff to fill in other areas so that we can have a larger reach to a variety of businesses and entrepreneurs.

Almost there...
